Product Overview
Rock Wool Insulation Board is a rigid, A1 non-combustible insulation panel made from basalt-based mineral fibre, bonded with a small amount of thermosetting resin for handling strength. It is the panel grade for the building envelope, where fire rating, dimensional stability and predictable thermal performance have to coexist on the same wall or roof.
The board is dimensionally stable, easy to cut on site, and accepts standard façade fixings. Because the fibre is inorganic basalt, the board contributes no fuel to a fire and produces essentially no smoke or toxic combustion products, which is why A1-rated boards are now specified across most commercial, industrial and high-rise residential projects.

Q: Is the board rated A1 non-combustible?
A: Yes. Independent test certificates to EN 13501-1 are supplied with every shipment.
Q: Can the board be used on a high-rise residential tower?
A: Yes. A1-rated boards are the default choice for high-rise external walls because they do not contribute to fire spread and produce no toxic smoke.
Q: What fixing system do you recommend?
A: For ETICS façades, standard plastic or metal façade anchors with a matching render system. For metal-cladding façades, the board is usually impaled on welded pins with speed-clip washers.
Q: Is the board water repellent?
A: Yes. Factory water-repellent treatment reduces short-term water absorption to <= 1.0 kg/m2. The board remains vapour-permeable, so any incidental moisture can dry out.
