A: In oxidizing atmosphere, the paper holds its thickness, sealing force and dielectric performance for years. We track long-term customers running the same gasket for 3-5 years without measurable degradation. In reducing atmospheres, derate continuous temperature to 1000 C and inspect annually.
Q: How much compression set does the paper show over time?
A: Permanent compression set at 25% deflection is below 10% after 1100 C x 24 h. For flange gaskets that need to retain bolt load, use the higher-density grade (260-280 kg/m3) to minimize relaxation.
Q: Is the paper chemically resistant to flue gas condensate?
A: Yes. The inorganic binder and aluminium-silicate fibre resist weak acid, weak alkali and steam condensate typical of flue gas environments. The paper is not recommended for hydrofluoric or concentrated phosphoric acid service.
Q: Can the paper be supplied as pre-cut gaskets?
