Product Overview
Ceramic Fiber Tape is a flat, woven textile made from high-purity aluminosilicate ceramic fibre yarn, reinforced with a fibreglass or stainless-steel filament running along the centre to carry the mechanical load. It is built for wrapping pipework, valve bodies, flanges and expansion joints where a flexible, cut-to-length insulation strip is needed and a rigid board or thick blanket simply will not fit the geometry.
The tape can be cut to width on the production line, slit on site with scissors, and wrapped or sewn in place. The fibreglass or stainless reinforcement gives the textile enough tensile strength to be pulled tight around a pipe and to hold that wrap through thermal cycling.

Q: How is tape different from cloth?
A: Tape is slit to a specific width and is wrapped around pipework, valve bodies and flanges. Cloth is supplied in full roll width as a flat facing layer or as the base for sewn covers.
Q: Can the tape be used on a curved surface?
A: Yes. The flat form wraps naturally around pipes, elbows and valve bodies. For very tight bends, slit the edge at intervals to make a spiral wrap.
Q: What reinforcement is recommended for the highest temperatures?
A: For continuous service above 1000 C, we recommend SS304 or Inconel wire reinforcement rather than fibreglass. The standard tape ships with fibreglass.
Q: Is the tape a direct replacement for asbestos tape?
A: Yes. The product is fully asbestos-free and meets the same application envelope as legacy asbestos tape.
