Product Overview
High Alumina Brickis a heavy-duty structural refractory with an Al2O3 content typically ranging from 55% to 80%, depending on grade. Manufactured from high-purity calcined bauxite through pressing and high-temperature sintering, the brick is engineered for hot zones exposed to continuous high temperature, heavy load, and aggressive slag or flue gas.
It maintains full structural integrity under long-term service at 1300–1500°C and is widely used as the working lining of blast furnaces, hot-blast stoves, electric arc furnace roofs, ladles, and cement kiln burning zones. The dense sintered body and stable chemical composition also make it suitable for transition zones where both temperature and chemical attack are severe.
Key Features
- High refractoriness and high Al2O3 content: stable mechanical strength at continuous service above 1300°C.
- Excellent slag and iron-oxide resistance: holds up against molten slag, alkali vapour and reducing atmospheres in metallurgical vessels.
- Strong thermal shock tolerance: tolerates frequent start-stop cycles and rapid temperature swings in cyclic kilns.
- Very low high-temperature creep: maintains tight joints and lining geometry over long campaigns.
- Wide grade selection: 55%, 65%, 75%, 80% Al2O3 available to match service temperature and chemistry.

Application Scenarios
High Alumina Brickis used as the working lining in iron and steel metallurgical vessels (blast furnace stack and hearth, hot-blast stove checker, ladle slag line, tundish), in cement and lime kilns, in glass furnace regenerators, and in the combustion chambers of large industrial boilers. It is also specified for carbon-black reactors, coke ovens, and forge furnaces where the lining must resist both high temperature and abrasion from charge movement.
Factory & Service Advantages
Huaci runs three high-alumina brick production lines covering 55% to 80% Al2O3 grades, with stable raw-material supply from vetted calcined bauxite sources. Standard bricks and special shapes (tiles, burner blocks, tap-hole blocks) are both available. Export packaging uses seaworthy wooden pallets with edge protectors; mill certificates, ladle samples and third-party inspection reports can be arranged on request.
FAQ
Q: Which Al2O3 grade should I choose for my furnace?
A: 55% is suitable for general high-temperature back-up; 65% for cement kiln burning zone and ladle sidewall; 75% for hot-blast stove checker top; 80% for the most severe zones such as blast furnace hearth. Our engineers can recommend a grade based on your service temperature, atmosphere and campaign target.
Q: How does it compare with fireclay brick?
A: This product has higher refractoriness, higher load-bearing capacity and better slag resistance than fireclay brick. For temperatures above 1300°C or for slag-contact zones, this brick is the standard choice.
Q: Can you supply special shapes?
A: Yes. We produce tapered bricks, arch bricks, burner blocks, tap-hole blocks and other custom shapes according to drawing. Mould opening typically takes 10–15 days.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: For standard sizes, 5 tonnes. For special shapes, 3 tonnes or one full mould output, whichever is larger.
Q: Do you provide installation guidance?
A: Yes. We supply a standard installation manual and can arrange on-site or video technical support for first-time buyers. The document covers joint design, expansion gap calculation and curing procedure.
