Product Overview
Silica Brick is an acid refractory brick manufactured from high-purity quartz sand through precise proportioning, high-pressure moulding and strict high-temperature sintering. With SiO2 content above 93%, the brick is the traditional lining material for coke oven chambers and regenerators, glass melting furnace superstructures and regenerator checker chambers, and hot blast stove vaults and combustion chambers where the lining has to face acidic working conditions and run continuously above 1450 C.
Different from neutral or basic refractory bricks, this product is specified for the high-temperature, volume-stable part of the kiln. The crystalline phase change of SiO2 in service keeps the brick volume tight through long campaigns, which is why the lining stays gas-tight and does not develop the gap expansion and air leakage that shorten furnace life.
